The employment rate for this year’s graduates of the Terry College of Business hit a new high mark. According to survey data reported by the Class of 2018, 98 percent of Terry graduates were employed within three months of graduation.
“These results show the value of a Terry degree in today’s hiring environment and reflect the determination of our students as well as the dedication of our faculty and staff who support them and open doors to many opportunities,” said Terry College Dean Benjamin C. Ayers. “I could not be more proud of their work.”
This is the third consecutive year that employment rates have equaled or exceeded 90 percent across every single one of the college’s bachelor’s and master’s programs, Ayers said.
The rates come from annual surveys of Terry’s graduating classes conducted by the Office of Undergraduate Student Services and Corporate Relations, the MBA Career Management Center, and the college’s specialized master’s programs.
A record 98 percent of Terry undergraduates were employed within three months of graduation, up a point from last year’s employment rate of 97 percent.
“We are committed to preparing students for career success,” said Associate Dean for Undergraduate Programs Henry Munneke. “We work intentionally with employers and alumni to provide Terry students with networking and professional development opportunities that enhance their experience and set them on a path to success well beyond graduation.”
Continuing its impressive string of placing Georgia MBA students at leading companies, Terry’s Full-Time MBA Program reported that 90 percent of its graduates were employed within three months.
“Maintaining this level of success is a credit to everyone, from students and staff to alumni and employers,” said Santanu Chatterjee, director of the Full-Time MBA Program. “We pride ourselves on the personal attention we give our students, and the reward comes in seeing them achieve their objectives.”
Again this year, two specialized master’s programs reported that all of their graduates seeking full-time positions were employed and a third program came very close. One-hundred percent of Master of Marketing Research (MMR) graduates and Master of Business and Technology (MBT) graduates and 99 percent of Master of Accountancy (MAcc) graduates were hired within three months of their graduation.
A number of global companies in capital markets, advisory services and several other industry sectors hired Terry College graduates this year. Among the college’s top employers were Aon, AT&T, Chick-fil-A, Citigroup Inc., Deloitte, EY, Georgia-Pacific, The Home Depot, KPMG, Newell Brands, Oracle, PwC, SunTrust Banks Inc. and Textron.
