KEYNOTE ADDRESS

Ruth Bartlett, BBA 1976
Retired Partner, Frazier & Deeter, LLC

Ruth Bartlett (BBA ’76) is a loyal alumna of the University of Georgia, supporting the Terry College of Business and many areas across the university. Her legacy includes support of UGA’s Business Learning Community, Georgia Commitment Scholarship, Marine Education Center and Aquarium, President’s Club, Magill Society, and Heritage Society.

Ruth is from Atlanta but lives in Hilton Head Island, S.C. She retired from Frazier & Deeter in 2018 after 28 years at the firm and a total of 42 years in public accounting. She helped grow Frazier & Deeter from 20 people in Atlanta to a regional power with over 400 professionals. She served as head of the audit department for many years and was the firm’s first female partner and the first woman to serve as president of the Georgia Society of CPAs.

Ruth received Terry’s Distinguished Alumni Award in 1997 and served on the college’s alumni board from 2003-2011, including as chair in 2005. After her service to Terry, Ruth was president of the UGA Alumni Association from 2015-2017. She has often said her favorite moments in serving the university were when she was surrounded by or interacting with students. She has touched the lives of many in the Terry community, including alumni, students, and friends.
