Georgia MBA alumni are invited to an inaugural symposium on March 20 that will be jampacked with professional development sessions, fun opportunities to reconnect with classmates and professors, and celebrate being Bulldogs in business.
Alumni of the Full-Time MBA, Professional MBA and Executive MBA programs are encouraged to register for the symposium, which is set to take place at the Business Learning Community – the new home of the Terry College of Business in Athens.
“This event is specially planned for the Georgia MBA community,” said Natalie Glenn, the college’s senior director of alumni relations and annual giving. “MBA alumni will hear directly from faculty in roundtable settings, as well as immersive sessions where they will learn from Terry’s stellar faculty. We’re excited for MBA graduates to have this special occasion to connect across programs and across the years to build their Terry network.”
The symposium kicks off Thursday evening, March 19, with a welcome reception inside the newly constructed West End Zone at Sanford Stadium for a “behind the hedges” look at the Georgia Bulldogs football facilities.
On Friday, March 20, sessions will include keynote remarks by Terry alumnus Dan Amos, the chairman and CEO of Aflac and one of the longest serving CEOs in the Fortune 200, second only to Berkshire Hathaway’s Warren Buffett. Amos served as chairman of the capital campaign that raised the private support for the Business Learning Community, and Amos Hall bears his name.
Other sessions on the agenda will include leadership educator Bill Faulkner from the University of North Carolina; faculty-led sessions on capital creation systems, employee behavior, and crisis communications; and a speed round on big ideas worth sharing.
Registration costs $125 and includes the opening and closing reception, breakfast and lunch on Friday. More information, including hotel accommodations in Athens and the full agenda, is available on the Georgia MBA Alumni Symposium website.
