Five researchers at the Terry College of Business will have projects funded this fall through the college’s inaugural round of Business, Systems, and Technology Innovation Research seed grants.
This seed grant program provides initial funding, between $10,000 to $20,000, to launch new lines of research focusing on innovation in business models and business systems or on technology-driven innovation.
The Office of the Associate Dean for Research and Executive Programs is using the focused-funding model to support new streams of research that furthers Terry College’s strategic goal of promoting innovation at UGA and improving business practices.
This year’s seed grant recipients are:
- Hani Safadi and Rick Watson from the Department of Management Information Systems will investigate data rights and data obligations for small businesses.
- Margaret Christ and Tina Carpenter from the J.M. Tull School of Accounting will investigate the role of human judgment in the era of technology-driven innovation.
- Tatian Dyachenko from the Department of Marketing will develop a software package that will provide a better way of analyzing causal relationships between events when several precursor events are considered.
