For more than two decades, Atlanta business leaders have had a standing breakfast appointment on the third Thursday of each month — the Terry College of Business’s Third Thursday speaker series.
While the series, which invites business and civic leaders to share insights into innovation and leadership, went on hiatus during the COVID-19 pandemic, it made its official return in September with Gov. Brian Kemp.
“We are so pleased to bring Terry Third Thursday back as an in-person event,” said Natalie Glenn, senior director of alumni relations and alumni giving at the Terry College of Business.. “When the pandemic began, we transitioned several of our programs to a virtual format but with networking and connections being such a vital part of Terry Third Thursday, we opted to wait until we could safely be back in person.”
Josh Brooks, the University of Georgia’s J. Reid Parker Director of Athletics, will headline the next event on October 21. Georgia Power Chairman and CEO Chris Womack, who assumed his new leadership role in June, will headline the November 18 event.
Audience members at September’s welcome back event heard Gov. Kemp speak about the state of Georgia’s economic recovery. Attendees, both those new to the breakfast series and Terry Third Thursday regulars, have been enthusiastic to welcome the series’ return.
“The response has been so positive,” Glenn said. “People were really ready to just get back in there and reconnect with their friends and colleagues.”
