The Mary Virginia Terry Student Support Fund was established in 2013 to honor the inspirational leadership of educational and cultural philanthropist Mary Virginia Terry. The fund annually supports four financial awards for undergraduate business majors and are presented at the Terry College Professional Women’s Conference.

In 1991, the University of Georgia named the College of Business after alumnus C. Herman Terry and his wife Mary Virginia in honor of their generous gift to the business school. A native of Quitman, Georgia, Mrs. Terry’s unconditional support, service, and commitment to both the Terry College and UGA made her a true role model for future business leaders.

The awards may be utilized for domestic or international travel (including study abroad programs), books, conference fees, tuition, professional development, and career advancement. Selection is based on academic achievement, philanthropic/community service, commitment to advancing the interests of women in business, and leadership qualities.

In order to be considered for selection, candidates must have a minimum 3.0 GPA and be a Terry College junior or senior. During Fall semester, online application information and timelines are provided. The Office of Alumni Relations administers these awards.

The submission deadline is Sunday, September 24, 2023 at 11:59 pm.

Open to students in all Terry majors
